I know, I know...

I keep initiating a come back and then, puff! I dissapear again.  But time is precious when you have a little one.  The problem is, that I have an overload of cool stuff and things I want to share and talk about that is going to make my head explode.  My other blog is all about Olivia and being a mom, and I need a break from that once in a while.  I do have other interests.  I used to be very interested in cooking, and tasting, and design, music, art, traveling, oh well, everything else!  So, I will try to come here and show something new every so ofter if only to keep my sanity.  I need a playground and a brainstorming space, and this is it, so, I will really try to stay connected this time.

Oh, and Happy Late Thanksgiving to all of you that celebrate it! Good luck on Black Friday! (to all the others that "celebrate" it as well).

Happy days!

Hello!  I am here again with things to tell.  So far it's been a busy and interesting-full of surprises summer with weddings, concerts, parties, visits and news!

First news to tell:  I am pregnant!  8 weeks today.  It has been one of the reasons for my lack of posts.  I have been digesting the idea and trying to decide whether to tell or not.  Jonas and I ended up deciding to tell, and just enjoy it and to go with the flow.  Anyways, if the worst came to happen (knock on wood!) we will be surrounded by people that loves and supports us all the way.

Second of all, the day we found out about the pregnancy (2 weeks ago) my father came to visit from Costa Rica and stayed until yesterday, so we have been busy, busy, busy.  I do hope from now on I can be more active with my posting, but we'll see how I manage it with school (which starts next Monday!!!!!).

I will have to gather some pictures from the summer, and promise I will try not to become a mommy-blog and to still focus on the things I like and enjoy.  Maybe I will drop something babyish and adorable every so often but I will try not to abuse it!  So recipes will come along, tips on design as well as art and whatever is going on with my projects too... bare with me if you can, I am a bit slower these days! (they call it baby-brain, hehehe.)

For now I leave you with Sufjan Stevens new song from his new EP of the same name "All Delighted People"... it's magic!

All about weddings!

I got married some time ago, so this is past tense for me, but many of my friends are getting married this season so it has been a subject lately.  One of my very good friends has asked me to help her out with the wedding decorations, so I have taken the task quite seriously and been looking for DIY ideas wherever I can find them.  While at it, I found Once Wed website, a site that if I had seen before I got married many things would have been not only cheaper, but more me.  I am not saying that I didn't like my wedding, I loved it (even though it is just all a blur at this moment) but I think that Costarrican weddings can be way too expensive, and maybe just a bit over the top.  If I could do it all over again, it would definitely be simpler, cozier, fresher, and most importantly, more personal and with less people.  Just close friends and family.  Here are some ideas I have found.

Fabric Flower Garland
Easy, simple and sweet flower decoration

Rustic and simple table
More paper flowers... how delicious are they???

Think outside the box! I love the shoes! Why didn't I think of it?????

A wedding in a little piece of paradise

Fjærland has to be one of the most beautiful places on Earth... It's one of the mos tidyllic, romantic and impressive spots I have ever been to.  Fjærland is a branch of Sognefjord, the longest fjord in Norway.  Well, just look at the pictures and you can get an idea of how ridiculously beautiful this place is.

Silly me, forgot to take pictures with the water... duh!

Click on the image to see in large.  This is the front and back view, but it was 360º of this!

Jonas and I (with the little back dress Invild made for me!)

Katrine (next in line for getting married), me and Cecilie.

The Bergen crowd.  Couldn't ask for better friends.  Love the all.
And to top it all, A FREAKING GLACIER! The picture was taken
from the car, so, that's the best one I've got.

Eden!

My friend Eden (whom I haven't seen in the longest time) just started her own blog about food and everyday things.  She is a master in the kitchen, and not only that, cooks the proper way: with the freshest most local products she can find.  Of course, she lives in San Diego, where the weather is obviously much better than here in Bergen, Norway, and it is possible to grow much more, but that is the thing, it is possible to grow a lot, and she actually does it.  Look at this artichoke! (I am writing with jealousy now!):

Anyways, she posts great recipes constatly with step by step picture instructions, so, make sure to take a look!  I am craving to try the "Pan-Seared Halibut with Lemon Beurre Blanc, Rosemary potatoes and creamed broccoli".  This is her picture, but I will post my own as soon as I find some Halibut in this town.

Hello again!

Well, we are back and well from a very nice skiing trip.  It was a very nice weekend with family and friends.  I managed to stay on my feet most of the time without falling down so much and at the third day, I was actually enjoying myself.  So, it was a great success (for that I thank my lovely parents in law who invited us over to join them in Geilo and my angel husband who was going next to me all the time and who is made up of patience.  I LOVE YOU JONAS!).

It's Easter and in Norway that means skiing!

My family in Norway has invited us to go skiing this Easter.  I must say, as a Costarrican, skiing is one of the Norwegian activities I have absolutely no skills for.  I fall down, freak out when my feet slide, have my shoulders up my ears all the time, but, when you are midway, there is a beer, a sandwich, tea and chocolate waiting (which my father in law carefully prepares with nuts and raisins).  So, it is all worth it!  Ha ha, no, not only for that, but the beautiful scenery, the company, and just being outdoors.

Mjølfjell 2007.  My first trip to ski in Norway.

As an incentive this year, my mother in law, Nina, offered to teach me how to sew some "Gamasjer" ("gaiters" in English and "polainas"?!?! in Spanish, anyways, the red leg protectors you see me wearing on the pictures above), that way I could have some of my own, and test the beautiful sewing machine I got for Christmas from onkel Jo :)

... And here are the results:

¡Felices Pascuas! God Påske! Happy Easter!

Rain coming soon.

I just heard an "avalanche" sound out of my window.  Both Rafa and I jumped like 1 meter high!  It was the snow falling off the roof, and on that note, I thought I should post some pictures of Bergen with white snow before they stop being relevant.  After 2 months of non-stop white snow and sunny skies, Bergen is returning to it's usual self and bringing the rain to wash out all the snow that is now dirty and clogging the streets.
